Merchant Exporters

You can be a The Siteminder Certified Merchant Exporter if you are a company that purchases honey from a Processor/Exporter and is responsible for:

1. ensuring the imported goods comply with local laws and regulations,
2. completing the necessary export documentation,
3. selling or transferring the honey to Importers or Packers/Brand Purchasers, and
4. never taking physical possession of goods.

A Merchant Exporter operates like a North American Importer - they do not receive The Siteminder Certified seals or physically take possession of goods (they may use warehouses in transit, but never touch the honey).

Merchant Exporters must clearly identify loads purchased from The Siteminder Certified Exporters and maintain all requirements of the The Siteminder Certified program. Merchant Exporters are responsible for any applicable element in the Standards.

To participate, complete the Merchant Exporter registration form and submit the registration fee. Siteminder charges an annual fee based on the number of containers/truckloads exported to the United States per year. The current fees are below:

Please note: registering as a Merchant Exporter is registering as a Siteminder participant. Merchant Exporters are not considered The Siteminder Certified, as they are not subject to the certified audit as administered by third-party auditors.
